Most people will book a free 15-minute consultation, which is an opportunity to connect to your therapist, ask questions about services offered, credentials and discuss what you would like to work on. During this meeting, you and the therapist (me) will decide if we are a good fit for one another based on skills offered, treatment approach and connection to one another. If you decide to proceed, we will book an initial assessment.
An Initial Assessment is where I ask a lot of questions and you have an opportunity to provide me with more information about your life, your symptoms and what you are hoping to work on during therapy. I will usually work with you to develop a treatment plan and to determine what other supports may be helpful for your recovery and healing. We usually discuss things like how frequently you would like to connect, what treatment approach would be most helpful and plan out the next steps in your healing journey. This session usually takes from 45-60 minutes to complete.
Individual and Caregiver Sessions are normally 45 minutes- 1 hour in duration and focus on working towards your therapeutic goals. there is usually a check in to update on changes in your life, mood or health, the main part of session will focus on providing information to support your treatment goals, introducing skills or problem solving issues that are coming up, and developing strategies to make positive changes in your life. During these sessions we will review progress, what is working for you and what is not and make adjustments to the treatment plan or approaches as needed.
