Our Process
Consultation
A quick meeting where clients have the opportunity to ask for clarification regarding therapist credentials, skill set and to discuss specific issues they would like to work on during therapy. Fit between us is determined based on personality, skills and comfort level and next steps are determined.
Initial Assessment
First session, where we gather additional information about one another, clients set goals related to their healing and recovery and we develop a treatment plan based on the information provided, goals you have set during session and your wishes. The frequency of therapy and duration is usually determined during this session
Treatment
We work together to help you to make positive changes in your life, gain a better understanding of yourself and your experiences and improve your overall wellbeing. This usually involves regular check ins, processing thoughts, feelings and your experiences and developing skills and strategies to find healthier ways to live your life. Both of us will work to slowly create a safe space and enhance our connection to one another.
Ongoing Healing and Recovery
After our work together, you will likely continue to make positive changes in your life, enhance skills to live life better and grow in your healing and recovery. Occasionally, you may choose to connect to ongoing community supports or reconnect to therapy to maintain motivation and positive changes in your life.
